After the financial meltdown of 2008, in February 2009, activists presented the creation of the Plataforma de Afectados por la Hipoteca (pah ) in Barcelona, with the aim of denouncing the social consequences of the housing crisis and fighting against evictions and over-indebtedness. Ten years later, the pah has more than 250 local nodes that, together with tenants’ unions and neighbourhood movements, are calling for a real decommodification of access to housing and the recovery of its use value.
