The Neighborhood Initiative Alexandros Svolos has been active since 2013, carrying out various cultural and participatory actions in the public space. It is made up of a diverse mix of people and operates with horizontal organizational structures. On a daily basis, it looks for ways in which the neighborhood will become more alive and creative. Thus, it combines the community collective knowledge and leverages the skills of the local creative capital. By following specific and methodological steps, it attempts to cultivate the identity of the neighborhood and to consolidate a more participatory culture. This context is focused on enhancing the quality of life which, through participation, self-organization and cultural expression, aims to connect residents with the neighborhood and the urban commons.
